Visit the Park for Sunshine and Sculptures

Plenty of local parks feature outdoor sculptures, but nobody showcases outdoor sculpture like the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is bordered by a vast expanse of lush green lawn that provides the perfect backdrop for their impressive collection of outdoor sculptures.

Visit the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art this summer to enjoy a rare opportunity to see Chillida: Rhythm-Time-Silence exhibit featuring the work of artist Eduardo Chillida. For the first time, an exhibition will activate Theis Park just south of the Nelson-Atkins. Four sculptures will be on view in Theis Park and three will be on display in the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park on the south lawn of the museum. This project is being done in cooperation with the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department.
